What the web tools are for
Official download-hub extras include an AI summarizer, email writer, HEIC to JPG, and compress PDF. Use them when you are on a locked-down library PC that cannot install WPS, or when you need a one-shot compress before email. Then download the result and delete the tab.
What they are not
They are not the desktop editor on an airplane. They are not a records system. Features, watermarks, and login walls change with promotions. If a tool insists on an account for a three-page compress, use the desktop PDF app instead. PDF chapter.
The PDF extension
A browser extension that opens PDFs inside Chrome or Edge is handy for highlighting a public white paper. Disable it for banking sites if it hijacks every PDF. Extensions also update independently of the desktop suite — another update channel to keep official.
Confidential files

When to install the real suite
