This website never hosts EXE, DMG, Deb, or APK files. If someone mailed you WPS-Office-Setup-Full-2026.exe from a Gmail address, delete it.
Ads are not automatically malware
The free skin shows banners and sometimes video ads. That is a product choice reviewers complain about constantly. SmartScreen and antivirus
Windows may warn on a freshly signed installer. Read the publisher. Defender Controlled Folder Access can freeze WPS on first launch — that looks like a crash. Add an exclusion only after you verified the source. Startup triage.
Update-channel research (NSPX30)
Wikipedia cites ESET research: a threat actor nicknamed Blackwood abused adversary-in-the-middle techniques to inject malware identified as NSPX30 into some WPS update paths, with activity noticed by researchers in 2023 and described as evolving for years. That is not “WPS is a virus.” It is a reason to stay on TLS, official stores, and current builds — and to distrust extra updater EXEs that arrive by chat.
Cloud, AI, and regulated data
WPS marketing describes encrypted transfer, GDPR/ISO-aligned language, and prompts not used for training without permission. Those are vendor claims. Do not enable macros from email. Macro support across suites is uneven anyway. Let Excel own VBA; open the file read-only in WPS. Formats.
