Create the account on purpose
Skip the account if you only work on one encrypted laptop. Create it if you want the cafe-laptop-plus-phone loop. Use a password manager. Enable whatever second factor Kingsoft offers in your region.
File Roaming versus Drive
WPS Cloud is the native sync. Google Drive, Dropbox, and similar connectors are for people who already live there. Do not enable three sync clients on the same folder tree or you will duplicate “thesis final FINAL” until the heat death of the universe.
Sharing and permissions
Share with view / comment / edit, then revoke. Treat a link like a postcard. For HR files, prefer named people over “anyone with the link.”
When sync looks broken
Airplane mode, full 1 GB quota, a file open on two devices, or a path that Snap confinement cannot see (Linux) explain most “it did not show up.” Walk through sync across devices.
Photo tool
WPS Photo is a lightweight crop/annotate companion so a screenshot can enter a report without a round-trip to a separate editor. It is not Photoshop. That is a feature.
Version history is not a backup disk
Cloud versions help when you overwrite a paragraph. They do not replace a monthly export of invoices to a disk that is not the laptop. Photographed PDFs fill a 1 GB free quota in a week. Same account on every device
Phone on a personal Gmail and PC on a campus email is how “the file is missing” starts. Sign out of leftover demo accounts. Then walk sync across devices.
Desktop folders versus File Roaming
A Dropbox folder that is also File Roaming is two sync engines on one tree. Pick one home for live files. Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive.
WPS Photo and Cloud together
Do not upload unredacted screenshots of a gradebook. Crop and blur in Photo first.
