AI is built into the suite — useful when you steer it, sloppy when you do not.

Kingsoft’s homepage frames WPS AI as a copilot for drafts, slide generation, spreadsheet insight, PDF questions, and formatting cleanup. Treat every output as untrusted until you verify names, numbers, and citations.

Where AI shows up

  • Docs: first draft from a prompt, rewrite, expand, translate, summarize.
  • Slides: a full deck from a short description or from an existing file.
  • Sheets: charts, formulas, and narrative summaries of a table.
  • PDF: ask questions and extract points without reading every page.
  • Format: tidy layout so a messy draft looks shareable.

A workflow that does not embarrass you

  1. Paste source facts you already trust (or attach the PDF you own).
  2. Ask for structure, not for invented statistics.
  3. Delete anything you cannot source.
  4. Run a human pass for tone — especially legal, medical, and HR text.

Privacy

WPS marketing says documents and prompts stay under your control and are not used for training without permission, with GDPR/ISO-aligned language on the homepage. That is the vendor’s claim. For patient data, unpublished financials, or student records, prefer local editing and your institution’s approved tools. Do not paste secrets into a cloud prompt to save twenty minutes.

Credits and paywalls

AI generations are often metered. If Copilot vanishes after a trial, you did not break Writer — you hit a quota. Spreadsheet work still functions with ordinary formulas.

Ask a PDF, then verify the page

The PDF Q&A trick is useful on a 200-page manual. It also hallucinates clause numbers. Click through to the page it cited. If it cannot show a page, treat the answer as a rumour. Same rule for sheet insights: look at the cells.

Translation is a draft

WPS AI will translate a paragraph. It will not know your department’s reserved terms. Keep a glossary. For assessed translation homework, using a model may be against the rules — ask, do not assume “the suite did it” is a defence.

Format tidy versus meaning tidy

When to turn it off
