Prefer the current universal or ARM build. If Activity Monitor shows “Intel” on an M-series Mac, replace the app from the official page.
iCloud versus WPS Cloud
Saving a DOCX into iCloud Drive works. Real-time WPS co-editing wants a WPS account. Keep archival files in iCloud; keep active collaboration in WPS Cloud or Google Drive.
Mac-specific snags
- Permissions: grant Files and Folders access when macOS prompts, or “file not found” is just TCC.
- Fonts: Arial and Calibri substitutes reflow campus templates. Install the font or export PDF.
- Keyboard: Option/Alt shortcuts differ from Windows ribbons.

Apple silicon versus Intel
Current Mac builds advertise M1–M4. An old Intel Mac still runs many packages; check Kingsoft’s stated minimum macOS version on the download page the day you install — it moves. Rosetta should not be Plan A for a daily editor.
App Store versus website DMG
Same rule as Windows: pick one channel. Do not mix. Gatekeeper will warn on a freshly downloaded DMG; read the publisher. Never bypass it for a file that arrived in WhatsApp.
